Step One : Design + Plan
Program design is an important part of ensuring that young people move from unemployment to employment that is meaningful to them.
Programs that have a clear logic and a defined process for improvement are more likely to deliver these outcomes.
A well-designed program has three key characteristics:
It is founded on a program logic that defines the issue, identifies the activities, details outcomes and clearly states desired impact.
It involves young people, acknowledging that they are the experts in their own lives.
It includes a plan for measurement and evaluation that identifies what’s working, what’s not and what can be changed to maximise effectiveness.
